The Monroe Museum is located in the heart of downtown Monroe, GA. The museum houses a variety of exhibits which tells the story of Monroe and the surrounding area. Some of the exhibits include a replica of a typical turn-of-the-century general store, a collection of period firearms, an early 20th century kitchen, and a room dedicated to the life and work of Dr. John W. Gaines, Monroe’s first African American doctor.
