The Quinlan Visual Arts Center in Gainesville has given talented students throughout Northeast Georgia a unique educational and artistic experience. We are the only facility of this size and scope in Northeast Georgia and the oldest arts organization north of Atlanta, located on historic Green Street in downtown Gainesville.
The center’s mission is “to deepen the knowledge of the students who take our classes by providing instruction from professionals with experience.” More than 60 instructors are available for private lessons, group classes and workshops.
The Quinlan, a haven for artists, collectors, students, and art enthusiasts, has something to offer everyone’s creative cravings. The Quinlan can be traced back to a 1946 meeting of artists that was originally known as the Gainesville Art Association.
Galleries
The Quinlan Visual Arts Center features two galleries that display the work of local and regional artists. The Jeanette Powell Gallery is a 4,000-square-foot gallery that features eight to twelve exhibitions per year. The smaller Charles H. Roberts Gallery is used for student exhibitions and special events.
Both galleries provide a unique opportunity for artists to showcase their work to the Gainesville community and beyond.
Classes and Workshops
The Quinlan Visual Arts Center offers a variety of classes and workshops for all levels of experience, from beginner to advanced. Photography, videography, graphic design, web design, and other visual arts disciplines are taught by experienced professionals.
The center also offers private lessons, group classes, and workshops.
Events
The Quinlan Visual Arts Center hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including art exhibits, concerts, and lectures. The center is also available for rental for private events.

The Quinlan Visual Arts Center is open MONDAY – FRIDAY, 9 AM – 5 PM, SATURDAY – 10 AM – 4 PM and CLOSED on SUNDAYS. Admission is Free.
